March 2008 will be a month of publicity for CouchDB. I will be giving a total of three presentations around the globe, the northern hemisphere, less then half of that, actually. Anyway.
March 1st, 2008 — Chemnitzer Linux Tage
As early as 9:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning, I’ll be giving the 45 minute version of my Next Generation Data Storage with CouchDB talk to a crowd of hopefully awake Linux enthusiasts. The conference is only 5€ (3€ for students), so be sure to show up! The presentation will be in German and so is the information page.
March 7th, 2008 — O’Reilly ETech — San Diego
This is a big one, and actually, they help sponsoring my flight to the US, so a big thanks upfront! In fact, this is a double session together with Damien and I am very excited about presenting CouchDB together with him. The presentation as it stands now will be CouchDB from 10000ft, a very high-level overview to get people excited without covering the technical difficulties that may arise. This is going to be fun.
March 28th-29th, 2008 — Mountain West Ruby Conf — Salt Lake City
This will be another instance of the Next Generation talk, but the latest details are not yet in, so I don’t know when or for how long I’ll be speaking. Thanks to Pat and Mike for bearing with me for the time it wasn’t clear that I would be able to come.
In between — Charlotte, NC
You might notice a three week gap between the conferences. I tried to keep travel-time and CO2 emission as low as possible so I won’t fly across the Atlantic four times for this marathon. Instead, Damien (yeah!) offered to find me a couch (no pun intended, well, a little bit) and we try to spend some quality time drinking beer and being jerks hacking on CouchDB.
If you are in any of the areas above and like to say hi, send me a mail and we set things up. If you want to take advantage of me being in the US and want me to give yet another presentation, drop me a mail as well. You can find numerous ways to contact me on the top left of my about page.
