Dear Readers,
I have a favour to ask. Please register for the first hands-on workshop about programming CouchDB.
Here is the story:
With my slight NADD infection I have, of course, set up a Google Alert on CouchDB. A few weeks ago, an alert came in that surprised me. Fortunately in a good way.
The call for papers of the 2008 edition of XTech, a (duh) tech conference in Dublin, Ireland, asked specifically for CouchDB related submission.
How cool is that?
I sent in a whole bunch of proposals, just to make sure one gets through and it actually did. I am scheduled to give a three hour hands-on workshop about CouchDB on May 6th at 14:00 (that’s 2pm american).
Since CouchDB is such a new thing, Edd, XTech’s conference chair ist not sure if it will draw enough interest. He reserves the right to axe the workshop in favour of something more popular. In that I case I might just give a regular presentation there. But we don’t want that to happen, don’t we?
Go and register for my workshop! You can expect a packed 3 hours of CouchDB goodness. We are going through the basics quickly and then build stuff. Bring your computer and JavaScript experience (just a little will do) to write super-simple distributed applications that you can then take home and improve. I will post detailed preparation instructions once I have my materials ready.
The line-up already looks very impressive and they are still filling it up. A lot of bright people will be around and I think this will be a unique gathering of talent and skill in Europe. You do want to be there.
Don’t miss your chance to visit the beautiful green island and its charming capital.
